It's easy become a member of our Fellowship of Christian Business Owners. The steps below should follow a pretty logical progression but if you feel they don't or have any trouble you can always call or email us.
To get started, you should read "Do You Buy Christian" by Ryan Reeves. It is the basis for the existence of our Christian Business Fellowship and Directory as well as a very important concept we hope you will all become very well versed in (not only communicating it to all your Christian Friends, but assimilating it in your own business dealings).
Next, you should be certain you agree to the following three bullet points (our "Basic Covenants") listed below, the basis of which is this: as Believers, we MUST be true to the name "Christian" ("follower of Christ"). The early Church forsook all for Him. If we claim to be Christian, the points below should be a "given", they should "go without saying". However, some people treat their faith as an "option", something to be "pulled out and dusted off" when convenient. All members of the CBO Expo must be of the same mind and have their priorities in business aright. We don't expect that everyone will agree on ALL points of doctrine, but there are certain non-negotiables, as represented below, which we must insist on. This is so that we can keep our group cohesive, promoting a unity based on true faith in Christ and having walks which glorify God.
I have accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Lord & Savior.
I desire to live my life & run my Business in a manner and fashion that will bring glory to God.
I will conduct my Business transactions by following the commandments that Jesus taught His disciples "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself." Matthew 22:37-39.
Decide which of our three levels of Membership are right for you. The table on the rates page will show you at a glance which benefits come with each membership. One benefit that is not listed, but which is central to our mission, is access to networking and fellowship events with many other Christian Business Owners in Central Illinois and beyond. USE OUR TOOLS! Do you need to re-size a photo in preparation to upload it? Would you like to create a video to give your listing pizzaz, introduce yourself and draw prospective customers in? How about an express inclusion system which gets your website indexed faster and more frequently? The tools you need are on this page.
When you have decided which Membership Level is right for your company click one of the "register today" buttons at the bottom of each column. You will be taken to our sign-up system where you can input all your company information, set up your payment by credit or debit card, or print your confirmation and mail it with your check.
Once you have registered and paid for your membership in Step 5, you will need to upload your photos and videos (if applicable) and provide your short and long descriptions and other pertinent information about your business. We have tools for re-sizing and cropping your photos and for creating compelling and beautiful videos for your directory listing. Call us if you have any trouble with any of this technology.
